Cold mounting resins typically consist of two components that cure after being mixed together. Two different systems are available, epoxies and acrylics. The acrylic set consists of resin powder and liquid hardener.
Acrylic resin is a fast-curing, easy-to-use material that offers good hardness and is preferred for routine metallographic mounting when speed is important but transparency and adhesion are less critical.
